The theme for today is, "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer." This will be the case tonight at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay as the lowly Devil Rays host the surging Mariners. The Mariners have won the previous two nights in Tampa Bay and we see no indications of this changing tonight. Sturtze vs. Baldwin Stats for consideration: 1. James Baldwin, who is the pitcher tonight for Seattle, has pitched extremely well for the Mariners in his previous four starts, posting a 2-0 record and a 3.00 ERA during this period. 2. Tampa Bay has dropped 8 straight. 3. This will be Balswin's second appearance against the lowly Devil Rays this year. His his first encounter, Baldwin pitched a good game to get the 7-3 victory on May 23. 4. Baldwin is an impressive 6-1 lifetime against the D'Rays. 5. Baldwin has pitched extremely well in Tropicana Field in the past posting a record of 4-0 with an impressive 2.12 ERA in five career starts. 6. Sturtze, for the Devil Rays, has improved his pitching over the past three outings, however, he is 0-2 this year against the Mariners posting a lofty ERA of 6.35. 7. Sturtze is 1-4 lifetime against the Mariners. 8. Sturze recieves the worst run support from his team over anyone in baseball. When Sturtze is on the mound this year, the Devil Rays only score an average of 2.89 runs per nine innings...just flat out awful. 9. In Baldwin's first meeting this year with the D'Rays, he only allowed four hits in the game. 10. Over the past three seasons, Seattle posts an impressive 10-3 record at Tropicana Field. 11. Tampa Bay is 17-25 at home this year 12. Seattle is an incredible 30-13 as the guest this year.
Seattle Mariners -200 Going for 16-4 over the last twenty.
